Marie Marefat

President's Advisory, Committee Chair [she/her]

Marie came to find herself at UK by way of a somewhat nontraditional path. She graduated from the US Air Force Academy, spent several years in the Air Force, and then taught for nearly a decade in an elementary-aged Montessori classroom. She is passionate about her children, learning, nature, and leaving things better than she found them. She currently works as the Executive Assistant to the Dean of the College of Medicine. She is excited to be a Staff Senator and hopes to serve as an advocate for all staff as such effectively.
