Information from the Staff Senate Chair to our colleagues!

Staff Senate Focuses on Engagement, Communication, and Shared Governance

As Chair of Staff Senate, I often talk about the importance of telling our story. That story belongs to all of us. It is the story of you, our colleagues, who serve students, support research, care for patients, maintain our facilities, solve problems, and help make the University of Kentucky a great place to work and learn. Staff Senate's role is to listen, share information, elevate staff perspectives, and help strengthen communication across the University.

The University of Kentucky Staff Senate has officially begun its 2026-27 term, with committees organizing and establishing priorities for the year ahead. Early discussions have focused on employee engagement, communication, healthcare workforce concerns, technology modernization, campus infrastructure, and supporting employees through ongoing organizational transitions.

Guided by our theme, "Telling Our Story," Staff Senate remained focused on ensuring that staff voices were heard, represented, and included in important conversations shaping the future of our institution.
