UK Remembers
Honor and Celebrate Those We Have Lost
President Eli Capilouto: UK Remembers
UK Remembers is a virtual ceremony that celebrates the memory of any member of our community who has passed in the last year. This could include students, staff, faculty, alumni, or anyone else who has played a part in the individual or community experience at the university.
Every member of the UK Community is welcome and encouraged to submit names online or visit our table on Alumni Commons between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
All names submitted online and in person will be displayed along the sidewalk between the Mining and Minerals building and Rose Street Parking structure towards W.T. Young Library.
UK Remembers 2025
This year, the UK Staff Senate invites the campus community to honor UK faculty, staff, and students who have passed since Spring 2024 through a hybrid memorial experience:
- Virtual Candle Lighting – Available online from September 22–26, 2025. Click the "Submit Remembrance" button below:
- In-Person Memorial Event – Join us on Wednesday, September 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Alumni Commons. Attendees can write the names of loved ones on memorial cards to be placed along the walkways between Alumni Commons and W.T. Young Library.
